Your Literacy Narrative video will be a “talking head” video (2-4 minutes) that meets the following requirements:

  • 2-4 minutes

  • Include answers to at least half of the listed prompts here

  • Upload to Youtube 

  • Provide a narrative in which to organize all of the memories you give about your history of literacy

Your Remix video of your litearcy narrative will meet the following requirements:

  • 1-4 minutes

  • Upload to Youtube

  • Edit at least two different types of media (video or audio) into your literacy narrative

  • Meaning highlights or is different from literacy narrative

  • Cite your media

Your Reflection can be either text or video and must meet the following requirements and answer these questions:·        

  • If text, 200-300 words

  • If video, 1-2 minutes

  • What challenges did you have while you composed?

  • What do you think you succeeded at?

  • Talk about your composing process

Literacy Narrative and Remix

Summary

In this unit, you will begin to develop your identity as a reader, writer, and scholar. Then, you will remix that identity using media to create new meaning or to emphasize a specific part of that identity.

  • To get comfortable with using sources to create new meaning

  • To conceptualize academic work as remixing your identity and/or thoughts and other's thoughts
